WELCOME TO TAIERI RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

The Taieri Rugby Football Club is a community-based club located in Mosgiel on the Taieri plains at Peter Johnston Park. Boasting five playing fields plus training grounds and recently refurbished clubrooms we cater for all players, members, supporters, and families.

The Eels, as we are known, have 5 senior teams consisting of Premier 1, Premier Development, Senior, Premier Colts and Championship colts. The Eels teams often feature in semi-finals with our Premier 1 team progressing to Grand Finals nine times in the past 12 years taking the banner on five occasions. We pride ourselves on seeing our Colts players advancing into the Premier ranks.

The Junior teams range from Under 5 through to Under 13 with multiple teams in many grades. Since 1962 the Junior club have hosted the popular “Taieri 7’s” on an annual basis, a tournament well known in the rugby circles around the South Island.

Our clubrooms are available for hire for events such as weddings, birthdays and other private functions.
